About TypeUps
No names. No likes. Just thoughts.
Sometimes a thought does not need a profile, an audience or a reaction. It simply needs somewhere to go.
TypeUps is a place to write a short thought without attaching a public name to it. We place it among other thoughts connected by meaning, feeling and direction. You can follow one thought into another and see where the journey takes you.
How it works
Write what is on your mind in 180 characters or fewer. TypeUps checks the thought against its safety rules, understands its language and meaning, and places it within the collection. From there, you can follow thoughts from other people that echo yours, carry a similar feeling or take the idea somewhere different.
There are no public profiles, follower counts, likes or popularity rankings. A thought stands on its own.
Anonymous does not mean private
Thoughts posted on TypeUps are public. Other people may read and share them, so do not include anything you want to keep private.
Your public thought is not displayed with your name, email address or profile. TypeUps uses a device-based anonymous identifier and limited technical information to let you manage your own thoughts, prevent abuse and keep the service working.
Your Journey
As you move from one thought to another, TypeUps creates a Journey on your device. It is there to help you retrace where you have been.
Your Journey is stored locally and is not a public profile. It may disappear if you clear your browser or application storage, use private browsing, change devices or uninstall the application.
Language and meaning
People do not all think in the same language. TypeUps may translate a thought internally so it can be moderated, themed and connected by meaning. The original thought remains the public version.
How AI is used
TypeUps uses automated systems to help detect language, moderate content, understand themes and find related thoughts. These systems can make mistakes. They do not diagnose, counsel or judge the person who wrote a thought.
TypeUps is not a mental health, medical, legal or emergency service.
Who operates TypeUps
TypeUps is operated by Threestart Limited, trading as Blanktriangle, in New Zealand.

Frequently asked questions
What is TypeUps?
TypeUps is a place to post a short thought without a public name and explore other people's thoughts connected by meaning.
Do I need an account?
No. TypeUps does not require a public account or profile to write and explore thoughts.
How old do I need to be?
You must be at least 13 to use TypeUps. Clearly explicit adult content is available only after a person confirms that they are 18 or older.
Are thoughts private?
No. Posted thoughts are public and may be read or shared by other people. Do not post confidential information or personal details.
Can people see who wrote a thought?
TypeUps does not display a writer's name, profile or email address with a thought. Limited device and network information may still be processed privately for ownership, security and abuse prevention.
How are thoughts connected?
TypeUps uses themes, emotional signals and semantic similarity to suggest up to three meaningful paths from one thought to another. Suggestions are automated and may not always be perfect.
Where is my Journey stored?
Your Journey is stored locally on your current device or browser. It is not designed to follow you to another device and may be lost if local storage is cleared.
Can I delete my thought?
You can delete a thought from the device that posted it while the anonymous ownership information remains available. If that local information is lost, TypeUps may not be able to prove that the thought belongs to you.
Can I post in another language?
Yes. TypeUps preserves the original language and may create an internal translation for moderation and meaning-based matching.
Is TypeUps a counselling service?
No. TypeUps is for sharing and exploring thoughts. It does not provide professional or emergency support.
